You Were Rockin' It Guys!

Thank you to everyone that came by my pop-up tent last Saturday during the Porsche Club, San Diego Region Concours and adopted some art! Amazing to see so many people supporting automotive art and very humbling as well! You guys, rocked it! Some large prints on metal found new homes as well as a bunch of matted prints. Here's just a few...

Hi guys, just a quick note on a "pop-up" show I'm doing with the San Diego Region of the Porsche Club of America. As one of the sponsors for the Concours on the Bay I'll have a tent with some of my prints on metal as well as matted prints available.

Here's the info on the show. Saturday, September 16, 2017. Held at Spanish Landing Park (across from the San Diego Airport) from 8:00-4:00 pm. This is one of the 16"x 24" prints that I'll have at the show. Come by and say hi!

Need Man Cave Art?

In my last post I mentioned I'm working with a company, Garage Graphics that will take my images and produce the perfect garage art, man cave art, or depending if your wife will give the nod, which may take some arbitration, home art. Thought I would share with you three images of my Ferrari print called "375 MM" on their 96"x 96" light table. I love the third one with a hand pointing at the water temp gauge. By the way, the hand belongs one of the tech guys, Ron doing proofing. They have a gallery of several of my images on their site, and here's the link: How can you not click?

Please take a moment to share this blog post with your friends in the car community! Thanks, guys!

New art, giant garage graphics, and more...!

New art! Yep, as I promised, I've been busy since returning from Monterey Car Week. Several new images have been loaded onto my website, and this is one. A very cool Ferrari image that still needs a name, so if you have an idea, let me know.

Also during that time I've been working with Garage Graphics to have my work produced in large printed formats. When I say large, how about eight feet high and twelve feet long for your man cave or garage! "Holy Colossal Batman!" Very cool, huh?

Garage Graphics, check them out here.

My new site images, check them out here.

Monterey Car Week 2017, another one in the Books

Thanks to all of my blog followers that attended Monterey Car Week and visited my photography show. It rocked! You guys rock! A special "thank you" to those that purchased a work of mine to take home or placed an order. Looks like I'll be busy in the near future getting prints done and shipped. Also, if you were at the gallery or Automobilia Monterey and found one you liked and didn't have the chance to get it there, email me at

It goes without saying, that I also want to thank "Gallery by the Sea Carmel" for hosting me for another year. If you're in Carmel, stop by and thank them for being one of two galleries in town that has the enthusiasm to participate in car week with automotive art.

Now I can't wait to get out and start creating some new photographic art for you guys...stay tuned.

"Car's and Cocktails" Pre-Pebble Beach Celebration

Yep, the "Car's and Cocktails" Pre-Pebble Beach Celebration is coming up and you're invited. It's being held at the Rancho Santa Fe Motor Club and Storage. I'll be showing a few of my current fine art automotive works as well as debuting some new images that I've made for Monterey Car Week. By the way, this current image from my photo site is called "375 MM Spider." These Ferrari's were made in 1953 and 1954. The "375" comes from the per-cylinder displacement in the 4.5L V12 engine and the "MM" comes from the Mille Miglia. Enough of my infomercial...
This should be a very cool event with lots of cars to check out plus music with "Live Crew" an Eric Clapton tribute band. Register at the link to gain free access to the evening. Please note, there will be a $20 ticket fee for at door registration. See you there and come by and say hi! So don't miss out!

A Smile Says It All...

I love the discovery of working on an image, automotive or otherwise and making something interesting. I also love seeing it going to art lovers who appreciate what I saw when working on the image. I did a series of these botanical prints that started out as B/W images, and then by bringing them to life by adding color to them using photoshop. This one was recently sold during on a open studio night to a blog follower. Thanks Keith and Nancy, I hope you enjoy it!

By the way, I have two different automotive events coming up where I'll be showing my art. So save these dates. The first, August 3rd evening, a Pre-Pebble Beach party being held at the Rancho Santa Fe Motor Club in Vista. Then second, August 14th-20th in Carmel, for the Monterey Car Week. The artist reception will be on Thursday, August 17th at the Gallery by the Sea Carmel. I'll be sending more info about both these in following posts. Until then, keep your foot on go peddle!

"Four Cam"

Simple art is frequently the strongest art and occasionally the most popular as well. This is one of my double floats from the "Compressor Gallery Collection" with my custom double float design. Why this size, you ask? Some simply just don't have the room for the larger pieces, and these can be collected and grouped together. The gloss image is 8"x 12" floated on a custom brushed metal backing of 10"x 14" signed on the back and including a hanger ready to be put up and enjoyed. Be the first to collect one of these. $185 includes shipping in the U.S.

This one is called, "Four Cam." A shot of the famously designed Porsche engine by Ernst Fuhrman, the racing engine of choice in the mid-fifties. It's been an extremely popular image! Add it to your collection now. How can you say no...

Get to Know Chad McQueen

I've had the opportunity to meet Chad McQueen a few times, Steve's son, so I thought I would share this with you.

Steve McQueen had a reputation as a hellraiser but according to his son, but he was a great father. In between shooting the films that would make him an international star and the worlds highest paid actor of the 70's, McQueen fathered two children, Chad and his sister, Terry. Steve would take time off the movie sets to teach them to ride motorcycles and to swim in the pool at their Los Angeles home, good times. Chad recalls, "Every other kid wanted him as their dad, so he must have been doing something right."

"Decaying Dreams" and You're Invited

You're invited to my solo B/W show coming up...
“Decaying Dreams”

The “Salton Sea” was created between 1915-17 when the Coronado River broke through farmer’s dykes flowing into the Imperial Valley forming California’s largest lake. Over the years it has had its ups and down. Its heyday was in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. During that period hotels, yacht clubs, trailer parks, even planned housing was built. On any given day, sailing, sport fishing, swimming, and power boat racing could be seen. It was truly a playground with people coming from all over to the “Riviera of the West.” However today as the lake shrinks due to SoCal’s coastal cities becoming larger and not allowing Colorado water to replenish the lake, the communities around the sea are dying a slow death. These images are from my series named, “Decaying Dreams.”
I hope to see you there and please RSVP to: AMAUER@MILLERHULL.COM

It's Story...

"Yo, you own a Chevy?" Miguel asked. "No", I replied. "I just like to think about the story this old Chevy could tell." Miguel responded in a soft Hispanic voice, "Go ahead and take your pictures, but this ol girl does have some stories." He continued, "I bought her almost new from the owner of the farm were I worked up in Salinas. It saw some long hard dusty days. My daughter was almost born in her, but we made it in time to the doctors. She made it to her First Communion in her, with her new shiney black shoes. Later, her Quinceanera in her, even to her Wedding with that gleaming white dress on." I took a few shots of the old but still glistening classic grill and asked, "Is it for sale?" Miguel said "Na, it's going to be my grandsons sons car when he can drive." I smiled and said, "Fair enough, I like its story!"

This image made its debut at ArtWalk in San Diego, with several matted prints being sold. The one shown here is a high gloss print on metal. It's presented as a double float with a custom metal backing, framing the print all around. It includes a hanger on the back, ready to hang and enjoy. This one is a 16"x 24" and is beautiful to see in person. Signed, with a numbered certificate of authenticity. It's $595 plus tax, and includes shipping in the US. Let me know if you would like to add it to your art collection. I'm here.
